In affordability terms, zoning and building codes behave like the minimum wage. The law says the minimum job or house must have so-and-so list of features. And then, poof! Anything less fancy vanishes, because it's now illegal. If legislated minimums make people prosperous, then simply raise the minimum wage to $100/hour and the minimum house size to 6,000 sf. Brian
