People who aren't willing to compromise with their cohousing comrades probably haven't been sufficiently educated about the nature of the commitment involved. If they already live onsite, it will be more difficult to educate them. But reminding them of the commitment to cooperate closely that they must have made at some point to join a cohousing community couldn't hurt. Perhaps an outside mediator might help--someone who is good with landlord-tenant disputes. Even though this issue isn't exactly that, the dynamics are similar. Good luck! -r
