Folks:
Here is a better than average guide to the construction code. Naturally this
book is only part of the "education" people need in order to do it
themselves.

It's title "Code and Construction Guide For Housing"
(ISBN 1-895389-03-8)developed by the Ontario governmentthe reasons it is so
good are:
* that it is an ILLUSTRATED residential buiding code book with excellent,
large 2 and 3D drawings to explain (almost) everything.
* that after it explains what the minimum standards are (if a builder or
architect tells you a house meets the code, then your likely getting a
minimum standard homenot what most people want)this book then shows you how
to exceed the codes.
*if you mail in a card found inside, you get automatic updates (for free)
until the next major revision.
*you can order the book from: Grenville Printing & Management, fax (416)
449-4119
the price is $50. Canadian, that's $3.50 US ..................just kidding
about $36. US funds.
