Laundry Rooms and Noise

Perhaps the analogies between commercial laundromats and common house
laundries are as invalid as those between cohousing dinners and restaurant
cooking. The commonhouse laundries would be much smaller and if the noise
were offensive, people wouldn't be doing laundry during meals, meetings,
etc. With sound absorbing materials, the washers would also much less
noisy.
