Hello all,

Just thought I'd toss in on the composting toilet question. I just
purchased a composting toilet direct from Sun-Mar. While Sun-Mar does
market units that are plumbed to a digester located on some floor beneath
the stool, my unit is self-contained. All the working parts (myself
included) are all located in the bathroom. This model has a fan that draws
air through vents and "the hole" and blows the fun stuff outside. There is
a small heating unit in the digester that helps the composting process
progress. The heater can be turned off (no switch, have to detach a wire
in the back of the toilet) once the, well you know, has reached critical
mass and temperature. Call me strange, but I think the whole process
(processing?) is amazing and kind of fun actually. I'd rather be making
beer, but concidering that some natural functions can't be avoided, you
might as well make them interesting. If Sun-Mar has a motto or needs one,
I suggest, "Bathrooms, there not for just reading anymore."

You're all welcome to stop by and take the Sun-Mar for a test drive . . .
