I heartily agree that it doesn't need to be decided before move-in. It is, in fact, a decision better made afterwards. I think this is so dependent on the group and your layout, that I'm going to partially retract what I said. Buffet style is easier, but the benefits of family style may be nicer for some groups. For us, we do too many different diets for the buffet to work well. How many cohousers does it take to screw in a light bulb? a) however many there are on the committee. b) all of us, it's a concensus thing. c) that's not my job this week. d) none. I blocked concensus because I want flourescents. e) at least three. One to hold the ladder, one to screw it in, and the rest to keep them company.
