Subject: Co-Housing Project For DisABLED Residents
Re: http://www.chamber4us.org/
Re: http://www.disabledbutable.com/

A group of severely disABLED adults (ourselves) who
are facing nursing homes as a sure reality (in the near to
distant future) are trying to develop an alternative specialized
co housing project for the severely disABLED individual who
may need a wheelchair-accessible apartment (using the
"Universal Design" concept) in the Dallas area.
We want to join with any other Texas co housing advocates
There are currently funding sources we are pursuing which
would essentially build the first 22 wheelchair accessible housing units on
a grant basis for the disABLED residents, This funding
might well serve as the needed initial funding incentive for a
co housing group who may be seeking all available funding sources
to build their community.
By joining our efforts with a local co housing group,
the specialized housing project may be able to include some of
the common areas needed by the co housing overall community.
Do you possibly have the names and e-mail addresses of
any other co housing groups in the Texas area who may have
contacted your community with whom we might be able to join
forces in a cooperative effort?
If you could possibly share any active co housing group
information that you may know in our area, we would be most
appreciative.
Thank you in advance for any referral assistance.
