I hope I don't sound impertinant..but I can't help being curious...

are association fees of $246 (or that neighorhood) the norm for cohousing?
as a student who currently lives in a $490/month apartment, it's hard for
me to imagine how I could afford a $246 monthly fee on top of mortgage
payments.(granted, I am planning to go into public library work, which
will probably never make me a high earner).
On the other hand, if such fees are comparable to, for instance, condo
association fees, then maybe that's just the breaks...
