More details now available on the new California grants for low-income housing I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Below is a reprinted message from a co-worker that gives some details and mentions upcoming workshops. David Mandel >I just received HCD's NOFA for the new CalHOME Program, which >provides funding for low and very low income homeownership >programs, both rehabilitation and new construction, to local >governments and non-profit housing corporations. The NOFA is >available on HCD's website at www.hcd.ca.gov. Application >workshops will be scheduled in November and December 2000. This >is an important source of new funding for very low income >homeownership, and we should make sure the affordable housing >groups and local jurisdictions we work with are aware of it. > >Elizabeth S. Noling >Staff Attorney >Legal Services of Northern California
