This is in response to messages on Jan 24,2001 by this subject. See http://csf.colorado.edu/mail/cohousing/2001 I dont know if any cohousing communities have actually forged an urban / rural partnerships but I've certainly heard the idea discussed from time to time. It is an intriging idea. I sort of recall that the intentional community in NYC called Ganas has an urban and a rural section. I'm sending a copy of this message to Diane Cano at Ganas who used to subscribe to cohousing-L, in case my memory is right and she cares to respond (to me and I'd post her response). Fred -- Fred H.
