Chris--

John said the lawyer he recommended could practice in Connecticut AND Mass.  Are you saying that when you contacted that lawyer he was not?

Forgot to mention something about lawyers.  It's important that you select
someone from your own state.  Not only is a local person more knowledgeable
about the pertinent laws, but he/she must be licensed to practice in the
state where the documents will be filed.

We discovered this when we called the lawyer who had drafted the bylaws for
Pathways, a Massachusetts group.  He told us that because he wasn't licensed
in Connecticut, he would have to work with someone in his firm who was
licensed in our state, but didn't know cohousing, or else he would work with
the lawyer who was already drafting our LLC.
