At Marsh Commons we must sign out if we are not going to attend one of our three meals a week. Failure to sign out means that you will be charged for the meal. We also have an agreement that requires signing on guests the day before a meal. When a guest or previously signed out regular diner want to attend at the last minute the cook can either say no or ask that person to go to the store and get some item that would otherwise be in short supply. One evening, for instance, I wanted to bring a couple of teenagers (friends of one of my sons). The cooks were making Tandoori chicken on the grille. At request of the cooks, I added a couple of packages of hot dogs, thus meeting the dining requirements of most of the kids at that meal.
