Looks like fun. Sunday 11/4 looks good -- early afternoon would be perfect
for me. Saturday the 10th is out -- a very, very busy day.

The Intentional Communities Resource Pages host a great deal of information,
some of it from my writings. A detailed summary of the budget party idea can
be found on the web at: http://www.ic.org/nica/Process/meeting.html

I think its the second or third link in the list, says something like making
meetings fun.

Have fun with it,

Subject: Annual Budget Party Idea

Dear List and Rob, in particular,
I have a need to find an old post that Rob sent to the list years ago
about Sharingwood's annual budget party where the budget line items are
determined by a party gathering where all the committees needing money
set up booths to inform and cajole members to alot them money for the
upcoming year. Whew. Sorry for that long opening.

I have searched the archives, which is fun and easy to do, but did not
find the post I remember Rob sending. Did you know that 1574 posts come
up when Rob's name is searched. I did that after using budget and party
keywords...all unsuccessful. So, Rob, would you be so kind to either
point me to your original post, or describe your budget party again?

At Tierra Nueva, we are searching for ways to include the community in
creating the annual budget, for discretionary funds (committees like
landscaping, orchard, workshop, community life etc.). Rob's description
of the Sharingwood process (a party) sounded like a perfect solution,
informational and fun at the same time.

thanks in advance,
Patty Mara Gourley
