At New View (Acton MA), the car access gets close to the back of almost 1/2 of the units, some of which have garages, some of which have parking next to their houses. Priority for these sites was given to folks with mobility impairments. (Otherwise, priority for house site selection was done by seniority of membership). There was definite design tension between pedestrian zone & car zone. But we managed, with the houses in a squiggly oval shape, and the road running along one of the long sides of the oval, with some parking areas tucked in the squiggles. -Jim Jim Snyder-Grant jimsg [at] newview.org 18 Half Moon Hill Acton MA 01720 New View Cohousing www.newview.org _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
