On July 10, the Cohousing Association of the US will again be touring
northern California communities in Sacramento, Davis, Pleasant Hill,
Berkeley, Emeryville and Oakland..
Benefits of cohousing tours:-- See first-hand how the layout of spaces and buildings enhance or detract from community.
-- Learn some of the elements of design that make cohousing work, from floor plans to site plans.
-- Learn what the process of "programming" is, and why it's critical to a successful community.
-- Get ideas that you can either bring to the planning of your own community, or use to decide what kind of community you'd like to live in.
-- Talk directly with residents of completed communities, learn what works for them and what doesn't, and get answers to questions that you just can't get from books.
