Hello,Yulupa Cohousing in Santa Rosa, CA, is currently researching the legal, financial, and insurance-related implications of one household running an "in-home child care" service. Do you know of any other California cohousing communities (especially those arranged as a condominium) that currently have such an arrangement?
Some initial questions that have been raised, include:1) Although California state law stipulates that any individual can run an in-home child care service in their own house, what are the implications for a condominium?
2) Besides our HOA's standard liability insurance, how else can the community protect itself against claims stemming from accidents, etc.?
3) How should the child care provider compensate the community for extra wear-and-tear on common areas (both use of exterior grounds and indoor common house)?
Thank you for any guidance or suggestions you might have. :-) BC ------------ BC Capps Yulupa Cohousing mailto:bcapps [at] mindspring.com http://www.yulupacoho.com/
