At Sharingwood we consensus by the group, we vote by unit. That is, unit owners vote on things, renters and owners consensus on things. What we vote on and consensus on depends on a variety of factors, but many things are consensused upon. Our agreement on Voting fallback is after 3 tries on consensus, a vote is held at the next meeting. We created this agreement and have never used it. Having the vote be mandatory on the fourth attempt, makes people who are unreasonable, act in a more collaborative fashion after a couple of tries.
