Cohousing Project Management
Sept 16-18, 2005, Berkeley, CA

2 Day workshop with Friday night social at Berkeley Cohousing
Housing at nearby hotels including Best Western, Holiday Inn Express and
Doubletree (Berkeley marina)

Learn project management from top cohousing professionals.  This workshop is
for professionals who work or plan to work with cohousing groups, as well as
for members of forming cohousing groups who will be relating to the design
and development professionals.  The presentation will be panel style and
will address the unique challenges, issues, and best practices of cohousing
development.  Professionals with varying styles and approaches will be
presenting.  Time will be reserved for individual consultation for
participants who have questions and issues.   A social gathering will be
held on Friday evening, Sept 16 at Berkeley Cohousing.

Panelists are:

* Kathryn McCamant, Principal for Development of The CoHousing Company.
Kathryn has developed severalcohousing communities in northern California
and designed dozens of others around the country.  She and her husband and
co-author Charles Durrett introduced cohousing to the United States with
the 1988 book, Cohousing:  A Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves.
Kathryn resides in Nevada City, CA where she and the Cohousing Company are
currently building a new cohousing community.
 
* Jim Leach, President of Wonderland Hill Development Company, Boulder, CO.
Jim has led Wonderland¹s efforts to complete a dozen cohousing communities
in the western United States.  He brings over 30 years of residential
development experience to cohousing.
 
* Michael Jacob, President of Talia Development.  Michael is a general
contractor with Talia Development,and served as project manager for Two Acre
Wood cohousing community in Sebastopol, CA where he and his family currently
reside.

Marketing is more than flyers & advertising!  It is a strategic process that
begins with site selection and continues through the life of a cohousing
project.  This workshop is intended both for professionals and for members
of forming and developing cohousing groups.  A panel of cohousing
professionals will share best practices for reaching your target audience:
strategies and tactics, effective message development, incentives for group
members, and best practices from other projects.  Time will be reserved for
individual consultation for participants who have questions and issues.
