Hi all,

Another fine "green" material for pathways is paving made from recycled
tires. They look like paving stones, but they're less expensive ($1.70 a
square foot) and can be made to look like paving stones or smooth. There
are a few providers around the country--the closest one to me is Waste
Tire Products. Contact info is: Will Tasto, (530) 865-4588,
www.wastetireproducts.com.

For comparison, putting in permeable pavers (paving stones with gaps for
rainwater to penetrate) cost around $10-15 per square foot.

Good luck,
Sean
