It is something of a shock to some people when they hear me say that I plan to die at Songaia Cohousing (38 people in 15 homes on 11 acres near Seattle). Having lived here since 1992, I have now lived here more time than any other place. My sense of community here (my relationships with others) is what first led me to share that point of view. This year, I've developed a stronger sense of place - a relationship to the land and trees and non-human life here which complements and reinforces my human relationships. I describe this as my terminal house. People here used to laugh, now they nod.
