One of the reasons the older group is easy to attract is that they are in the moving mode and have the time to go to meetings.

Families with children are not likely to be in the moving mode so you have to work harder to convince them to pull up stakes, change schools, etc.

People who are planning to have children are a good target so don't put so much emphasis on "families" that you exclude this group. Using "households with children" is also better. Some single parent households will feel themselves excluded by "family" which people usually use to mean the standard "two parents and 2.5 children." While a minority of households meet that definition, the people who use the word "family" as in "family values" are often using it as a code word for Christian, heterosexual, married man and woman, with children, most probably white. It may turn off people who do not want to live with those people or don't fit the profile.
