Maggie, As I recall the objections were overcome when we had a salon (a more informal gathering with limited or no facilitation) where we had a great and respectful discussion about our hopes and concerns and points were brought up that hadn't been discussed previously. I'd say a few of the points that were brought up that had the greatest sway were the anedotal evidence about house sales made difficult because of the lack of a healthy condo reserve fund (and that having one is a good selling point for resales;) and that the reserve fund was cheaper than any of the broker fees that anyone in the group was about to face. I believe, in the end, we made a really good decision and that we were all really behind it. Jeanne----- Original Message ----- From: "maggiedutton" <mdutton [at] shaw.ca>
I can't help but speculate about how this process could have been improved using Sociocracy for decision making. How were the two objections overcome? _________________________________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list -- Unsubscribe, archives and other info at: http://www.cohousing.org/cohousing-L/
