There is a large loft space in a gorgeous 1,150 square foot one bedroom unit 
available for rent for $700 per month in Swan's Market Cohousing Community in 
the  
historic area of downtown Oakland.  The unit has high ceilings, a set of stairs 
leading to the loft and a large living area.  The home has one full bath and an 
additional half bath. The kitchen has modern appliances and ample counter and 
cabinet space.  Built in 2000, newer common amenities in the Cohousing 
community include a beautiful large common kitchen and dining room, children's 
play room, laundry room, exercise room, guest room with bath and extra storage 
space, workshop and a lovely landscaped inner garden.  Because the space 
available is a loft without complete privacy, this arrangement is ideal for 
someone who is not home every night.  Preferably, you would be in your 30s - 
50s and interested in participating in the cohousing community.  You would be 
sharing the space with a quiet 44 year old woman and one cat.

Swan's Market Cohousing enjoys common meals three nights a week, an organic 
garden and frequent ad hoc activities together. It is walking  
distance to BART, downtown Oakland, Chinatown, Jack London Square and a vibrant 
farmer's market.
