We looked at how 6 of us could share the cost of an electric vehicle.
The insurance company couldn't deal with it. Then the owner found out
that if there were an insurance claim, any driver who had paid any
money to be driving it, wouldn't be covered. The only way to be
covered was to have the owner simply share their vehicle with us, with
no money received for it. I guess with a gas car, paying for gas
wouldn't be the same as paying to use the car. But if an insurance
claim attorney looked into it and decided this was a scheme to
actually joint-own, you might get sunk. Check carefully.
