The Ultimate Pet Policy

Pets are an important part of creating community. For some they are surrogate children or companions, for others they are a welcome distraction from challenging children. However their activities and action must be regulated for the safe and harmonious running of our community.

Therefore we establish the following Pet Policy:

1. Any community member may own pets whose market value does not to exceed 5% of the value of the outstanding balance of your cohousing home. For those home owners who are underwater in their home value, all pets are expected to assist in the generation of funds to assist their human owners whom they receive food, water, lodging and affection.

2. Any cat seen with a bird or other defenseless creature in their control will be immediately enrolled in a behavior modification class at the owners expense.

3. Any dogs found leaving droppings within 100 yards of the cohousing property will be fined 1 hour of runtime on the community generator for every 1 oz of droppings found. It is expected that this portion of the policy has the ability to generate over 1 MW (megawatt) of power per year given past performance using conservative estimates.

4. Any reptiles found loose on the property will be immediately sent to the community bar-b-cue as a supplement to the next community meal.

Sincerely Submitted,
