Hi Jerry,we have a laundry room with three large high class washing machines which are havily used and regularly maintained. Everybody is using the laundry room, that is: 50 adults and 33 kids (many babies and toddlers). We have 32 units with 1-4 habitants and we have been living together for 8 years now. So we can confirm that 3 machines have been a good choice for our group. And I am pretty sure that 3 machines will be more than enough for your group. You might even consider having two large industrial machines (the type they use in hotels etc.) and one "small" household machine for small households.
Good luck, cheers, Irmgard Kravogel Cohousing Lebensraum in Austria www.derlebensraum.com Am 13.11.2012 um 12:16 schrieb cohousing-l-request [at] cohousing.org:

We are looking at 15 - 18 homes, average size two bedrooms, with an average of 2.7 people in each home (I made that up, I don't know what the average number of people per home willbe.). Will three machines be enough, or ...?
