Our community asks that we follow the ordinances of our city which happen to prohibit at-large cats. When I moved in, my elderly cat refused to live indoors so was allowed outside during the day for the few remaining months of his life. (I purchased one of those brightly colored collar attachments to help warn birds.) Other than this, all cats here live indoors.
