Another thought. I’ve seen comments that some countries never adopted the single family home the way the British and American’s have. France is one of the countries but there are other, I understand. Netflix shows television series from many countries. A major difference that isn’t commented on and isn’t related to the subject is that households live in large buildings on different floors. The buildings are not so cut and dried as American apartment buildings but are more graciously designed with larger hallways and entrance ways. They seem built for long term residency by multi-generational families. Research on how they are owned and managed might be a productive endeavor.
