The Classic Coke fallacy! Remember when Coke ran tests at shopping malls asking
people whether they liked A or B? Well, the majority liked B. So since A was
coke, they changed to B which was sweeter.

Coke drinkers went ballistic. Picketing, editorials, news spots, etc.

When McDonalds dropped their contract and went to Pepsi, Coke finally got the
point. They introduced Classic Coke which was the original formula. Some where
along the line, New Coke disappeared.

The people who liked sweeter drinks were already drinking Pepsi so why change.
Coke lost all its own customers.

I think two things have been happening to the list:

1. Many more communities are using developers and cohousing consultants and
rely on them for all their information. Some may be relying more on friends who
live in another cohousing community.

2. People can’t find the list and it isn’t being included in news articles
about cohousing. It isn’t just no marketing, it’s no front door or street signs.
