---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Lauren: curious if you are using Slack exclusively or still using email? how did you switch to slack? was it wholesale or did you trial it with certain members or committees? our community is talking about maybe using slack and so am curious what process you used. thanks, Judith Lienhard, Portland Oregon, Cascadia Commons ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Thu, 20 Jun 2019 10:10:11 -0700 From: Lauren Lake <laurenlake161 [at] gmail.com> To: cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org Subject: Re: [C-L]_ Slack for communication Message-ID: <CAG5zEhZG9TWYcLxoci=Pfy=Kva-y6oQxw7UdC45_0sqDGQCtxA [at] mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Truckee River Cohousing has been using Slack very successfully for about a year. Our channels: one for each of our teams, and also for policy topics (e.g. parking). Some teams have a private channel for confidential matters, but otherwise anyone can join in on any channel. Social: people post invitations for hikes or ski outings. Random: a fun place we just post interesting tidbits Kudos: a place to thank members who go the extra mile Sharing-stuff: lend or borrow bikes, ski gear, etc. We have the usual mix of tech savvy and not-so-savvy members. The ones who have problems with slack were the same ones that found email challenging ------------------------------ ------------------------------
