Hello all - My neighbor, Krissi, found this article yesterday. It’s really good. And it mentions, Temescal commons cohousing in California waaaay at the end. You may know David Brooks from the PBS NewsHour as someone who does commentary as the conservative voice on national politics along with Mark Sheilds, The liberal voice. However, Brooks has written extensively on community and collaborative living. He embraced the conservatism of the Republicans, but as his thinking has evolved and the Republican Party has transmorphed into something else, he now declares himself as an independent. Regardless of how he is labeled this article is a work of art and deep conviction. Right at the end he describes a community he became involved with here in Washington DC. I have heard him speak about this experience. He was and is deeply moved by The bonds of kinship. A little lobbying from me: we should have Brooks as our keynote speaker at the next national CohoUS national conference in 2021. :-) Ann Zabaldo Takoma Village Cohousing Washington DC Sent from my iPhone All tiipos ... curtesy of Siri :-) Begin forwarded message: > David Brooks on nuclear family... mentions cohousing. > > https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/03/the-nuclear-family-was-a-mistake/605536/
