I'm not sure why this discussion reminds me of this but I'll go with it!!
Shower bars!!!
We have sturdy bars to lean on in the shower of all homes. We did it
so people can "age in place". I have heard that some independent
living places don't have them because it makes people feel old. I
can't get my parents (83) to add them to their house.

I had a concussion from a car accident 5 years ago at 50 some years
old and the shower bar was critical to my life. Without it I wouldn't
have been allowed to shower without someone else on the second floor
with me! Everyone wants shower bars whether they know it or not.
