Why lumber is so expensive suddenly

I wasn’t Trump’s unwise import taxes — it started with the big recession in
housing when the demand for new housing was flat and 30+ mills when out of
business. Other disasters destroyed forests and planting was scaled back
because there was no demand. The prediction was another recession in lumber
during COVID but the opposite happened. Demand shot up. But it takes time to
grow wood and build sawmills so it’s a game of catch up.

Nice infographics.
