Note - Posted by list manager, Fred for Patty Training and practice: Courageous Conversations for Nice Minnesotans Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM YWCA 2121 E. Lake St Mpls, MN 55407 Non Profit or Individual: $8.00 Pre-register at: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/4413436708/mcivte It can be a challenge for all of us to bring up a difficult topic. It can be hard to speak about things that result in strong feelings or reactions, whether you are at home, at work, in a family business, within a religious community or in your neighborhood. How can we talk about these things in a more constructive manner? This experience is meant for those who want to be "nice" and also be honest and direct in their communication. The approach is based in personal awareness and interpersonal skills, and is intended for those who are ready to address difficult topics. It will involve both training and practice. This seminar is perfect for those who wish to understand more about how to work with the inner and outer conflicts that make certain topics almost impossible to talk about. We will talk about how to address personally disturbing topics as well as public policy issues (e.g. marriage, abortion, gun legislation, the statute of limitations on child abuse, etc). If you wish to learn more about the work being done by Tom Esch please see http://www.creatingresolution.com. The event is being sponsored by the YWCA and that is why the cost is so affordable. Two other events will take place similar to this one on July 11th from 7-9 and on August 10th from 9-11. All are welcome to attend.
