Now that the MN350 Divestment Team is launching a Divest Minneapolis
Campaign (in addition to its earlier focus on colleges and universities),
I'll be joining it at the June 16 meeting. In 1985-86 I was an active
member of the MN Anti-Apartheid Coalition working on divestment of South
African holdings at the city and state levels, and this is an exciting
opportunity to advance climate justice using a proven and effective
organizing tool.

If as expected the General Assembly passes the Fossil Fuel Divestment
Business Resolution, I also hope to organize around divestment at FUS and
through the MUUSJA environmental working group. Perhaps we can discuss the
issue at the next MUUSJA meeting in July.

Hello friends,

Coming off of the *Divest Minneapolis* event we've confirmed *there is a
vested interest in moving forward with a campaign this summer*. Â We're
happy to announce we'll be navigating through this process with the support
of City Councilman Cam Gordon and representatives of the Citizen
Environmental Advisory Council.

But as you know, the strength and effectiveness of a campaign is entirely
reliant on the passionate people who support it - so we need *yourÂ
*uniqueness,
creativity and ideas in order to be successful! Â No experience in campaign
work or divestment needed.

*We want to invite you to our first official campaign meeting of the summer*,
where we'll talk about campaign structure, discuss next steps, and assign
tasks.

Please join us!
*What*: Divest Minneapolis Campaign Meeting
*When*: Monday,Â
*June 16th Time*: 6pm - 8pm
*Where*: IATP - 2104 Stevens Ave SÂ
(Street parking and parking lot available; walking distance from bus
