Dear friends,

I hope you are well and enjoying the summer. I am so heartened by all of
the amazing work we are doing- and I’m excited to write you with this
opportunity for a truly movement building moment!

This September, hundreds of thousands from across the country will stand
together to bend the course of history. The number of people and groups
who are coming together to make this possible is inspiring. And together
we’ll walk, peacefully, through the streets of New York as thousands of
teachers, farmers, parents, union members, friends, health professionals,
activists, children, all part of the human community that calls this planet
home. You are invited to the People’s Climate March
<https://www.eventjoy.com/e/peoples-climate-march-274884>

MNIPL is planning a faith delegation that will travel east to New York
City, telling our stories, and visiting faith communities to hear their
stories along the way. We will depart Minneapolis on Friday September
19th, and travel to Indiana where we will have a campfire, community, and
time for music. On Saturday we’ll travel to Lancaster, PA where we will
meet with members of the community and participate in a collective Climate
Conversation. Sunday morning we’ll have interfaith worshipservice ON THE BUS,
and arrive in Manhattan ready to march. The bus will depart Manhattan
Sunday evening, and we’ll travel through the night, arriving back in Twin
Cities on Monday afternoon.

Together we’ll bring the call for regional, national, and international action
on climate change to the People’s Climate March. We need you there. Will
you come bring your Spark?

Organize a Delegation From Your Faith Community!

Here’s how you can help make this moment count:

First, buy your ticket here
<https://www.eventjoy.com/e/peoples-climate-march-274884>. Then, spread the
word! Download this poster
<http://mnipl.org/uploads/Climate-March-RGB-WEB2.pdf> to share with friends,
family, and in your congregation. You can direct folks to the ticketing page
<https://www.eventjoy.com/e/peoples-climate-march-274884>, and questions to
claire [at] mnipl.org.

But really, the most effective thing is to have one on one conversations
about why its important to you to attend the People’s Climate March, and
invite others to join you. This will be a great way to elevate the
conversation around climate change and invite folks to join us who perhaps
haven’t been involved in the past.

Ask your pastor/faith leaderto make a brief announcement during the
service about
the People’s Climate March, and table after the service with more
information and an opportunity for people to sign the interest form.

Invite MNIPL to facilitate a dialogue in your congregation about climate
change and the importance of the People’s Climate March.

Upcoming Events

Potluck for travel to the PCM August 14th 6-8pm at Lynnhurst Park in
Minneapolis: Join us for a community gathering to raise money to relieve
travel costs. Enjoy an outdoor potluck, and invite friends and community
members to support your trip!

Organizing Meeting Join us on September 3rd 6-8pm: at Gandhi Mahal for
delicious Indian food, music from Scott Marrs, and a time to get to know
one another before embarking on our journey to NYC. We’ll go over
logistics, and plan activities during our travel like music on the bus,
storytelling, food, gifts for our homestays hosts, a community art project,
and more!

We are so thankful for all that you do, all that you are, and the many
gifts, passions, and skills that you bring to this beautiful interfaith
climate movement. I hope that you will be able to join me and the growing
community who will be gathering in New York to call for the world we know
is possible. Along the way we’ll be able to hear the stories of climate
activists across the country. It will be an enlivening experience and I
would love to be able to share it with you!

With gratitude,

Claire
