There's no obvious 'best place' in the Twin Cities, no central plaza where
citizens and pigeons gather, soapbox advocates wheedle and harangue, and
the mass of local humanity expects to witness the periodic upswelling of
popular outrage. Since the decision is Obama's, with eight federal agencies
weighing in, and the lead agency right now is the State Department, it
makes sense to gather at the Federal Building at 212 Third Ave S, which
houses a State Department passport office.

The building stays open until 8 pm, and the best time to gather would be
the evening drive time - perhaps 3-6 pm. It's a vigil, so there won't be
speeches, but a sea of signs would be excellent. We might also decide to
march elsewhere - say, to the US Courthouse at 300 S Fourth St, or the
Hennepin County Government Center, or Peavey Plaza. If there are sufficient
numbers, we could string ourselves along several downtown arteries. Just
thinking out loud.
