Dear Scott,

Last week ended with a lot of big news in the fight against Keystone XL.

On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives paid Big Oil back for all
those campaign contributions by passing a bill to approve Keystone XL. That
same morning, a Nebraska court approved the KXL route in the state,
clearing the way for a final decision from President Obama.

*This Tuesday, January 13, thousands of changemakers will gather around the
country to send a message to President Obama: It's time to reject Keystone
XL once and for all! Find an event near you, or host your own!

Big Oil-backed members of the new Congress know Keystone XL isn't in our
national interest, and they know President Obama will do the right thing
and reject this pipeline. *That's why they're so desperate to approve KXL
before the official review process can be finished.*

They tried this yet again on Friday, but failed to get the number of votes
they would need to override the veto that President Obama has promised. But
they'll keep trying. That's why it's time for President Obama to finish the
review of KXL, and then reject it once and for all!

*Victory is in sight, but it's critical that we keep this fight going
strong until Keystone XL is rejected. Take to the streets with us on
Tuesday to urge President Obama to do the right thing and reject KXL!

The president has made it clear that Keystone XL can't be in our national
interest -- and thus must be rejected -- if it "contributes to an overall
warming of the planet." We know that it will, and we know that the
president knows this too. Now we just need to make sure he keeps his
promise and makes sure KXL is never built. *Find an event near you to show
where you stand.

Thanks for doing your part to defeat this toxic pipeline,

Michael Brune
