Gadfly Theatre Productions Presents Precious Little

February 17, 2014 (Minneapolis/St. Paul) -- Madeleine George's magical and
deeply moving play about communication, commitment, and connection is
coming to the People's Center in March. The former 13P playwright's
contemporary tale starring Brodie, a gifted linguist and
single-mom-to-be-by-choice contemplates tough questions when Brodie finds
that the baby she's carrying will never be able to communicate via
language. Failing to receive comfort from her young girlfriend, she finds
connection in unlikely new friends--namely an ape at her local zoo, and
Cleva--the last known speaker of a dying language. Precious Little will be
produced at the People's Center Theatre on the West Bank of Minneapolis,
and runs March 21st-30th.

As a queer and feminist theatre organization, the lesbian identity of both
the playwright and the protagonist were a factor in choosing this piece,
but what director Immanuel Elliott was really drawn to was the play's theme
of finding ways to communicate when words aren't enough or won't suffice.
This play will grab the attention and hearts of many regardless of gender
or sexual identity due to the organization's dedication to "uniquely
universal" work. Gadfly is proud to welcome Sondra Glynn back to Gadfly in
the lead role, as well as first time Gadflies Alana LaBissoniere and Joann
Oudekerk, who play multiple characters each.

Gadfly Theatre Productions hosts a FREE salon for the public for each of
it's productions. This one will be held at Boneshaker Books on Wednesday,
March 12th at 6:00 P.M. This event is free, and features complimentary food
and beverage from local vendors, guest speakers who are experts on the
topics presented in the play, and face time with the Gadfly artists and
company members themselves.

Tickets to Precious Little are sliding scale starting at $12 for a regular
show, and features three Pay-What-You-Can performances where advance
purchase through Brown Paper Tickets will be possible. Please e-mail
gadflytheatre [at] gmail.com for more ticket information. Precious Little is
presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.
