WAMM Calendar March 26 - May 7| We'll miss Sharon
From: Women Against Military Madness (wammmtn.org)
Date: Thu, 26 Mar 2015 15:38:39 -0700 (PDT)
Its so darned hard to say good-bye.

The WAMM community is mourning the loss of our Board Co-Chair and
wonderful, beloved sister [1]Sharon Rice Vaughan. Sharon passed while on a
trip to Cuba this week, doing something she loved, traveling.

There is just so much to say about the light this woman poured out to all
of us, for many decades. The [2]harbor she created when there was none. We
are so grateful to have shared her passion for justice, keen sense of
struggle and spirit of joy.

A memorial celebration of Sharon's life and love:

If I die, survive me with such sheer force
that you waken the furies of the pallid and the cold,
from south to south lift your indelible eyes,
from sun to sun dream through your singing mouth.
I don’t want your laughter or your steps to waver,
I don’t want my heritage of joy to die.
Don’t call up my person. I am absent.
Live in my absence as if in a house.
Absence is a house so vast
that inside you will pass through its walls
and hang pictures on the air
Absence is a house so transparent
that I, lifeless, will see you, living,
and if you suffer, my love, I will die again.
