Don,

A great, relatively local, source of info for you on both building
architecture and landscape architecture is Real Goods in Ukiah, phone or
visit their showroom.  Also in that neck of the woods,  Boonesville I think,
 is a place called Shenoa Retreat Center.  They follow the Findhorn (sp?)
philosophy and have an incredible organic garden which provides them with all
their produce.  It is also a great place to go for the weekend or longer.  If
you can't find them through information, call Real Goods, ask for Brenda.
