To me a big one (on the practical side) is borrowing cars and getting 
rides.  At N Street I *always* know that I can get a ride to the 
airport.  Similarly if I suddenly need to borrow a car because ours is 
gone and I need to be somewhere else, there's always someone who will 
loan me one.  It means that Lynnette and I don't have the slightest 
temptation to have a second car, which we otherwise might.
