In responce to Harry's question.  I have been designing homes in California
with an MA Arch degree from Berkeley but no licsence for fifteen years.  Most
recently I designed Marsh Commons co-housing in Arcata for which I hired a
liscenced architect to supervise working drawings and sign them.  The law
allows non liscenced designers to produce working drawings for single family
or duplex homes of two stories or less.
