I'd like some advice from those of you already living in cohousing. Eno Commons is currently working on our Common House floor plan. Our site plan has two rows of homes running east-west, with a pedestrian way between them, and the road to the north. The Common House has a central location on the north row, with the road right behind it. Right now the design shows the main entry, with mud/boot/cloak room,on the road side, and another entry, but without mud/cloak area, from the pedestrian way. I'm wondering if the main entrance with mud room shouldn't be from the pedestrian way. My question for you is: do you normally walk to the Common House after having gone to your own home, or first thing upon entering the community? Do you usually enter the Common House from a pedestrian way or by the road? Do you have any opinions about where the main entry should be? Thanks, Sherri Zann Rosenthal, Eno Commons CoHousing, Durham, NC
