I thought I'd add a few of the fun things we've done here lately at Valley Oaks Village to the wonderful contributions made by others. I had friends up for the past week-end. It's great being able to invite friends over for dinner & just show up to eat! Sat. morning the kids all dyed Easter eggs. Sat. night we had our full moon women's circle. (It was a week late this month because one very involved woman was in the hospital over the full moon.) It's a monthly gathering for the adult women in our community. Easter morning there was an Easter egg hunt for the kids followed by a fabulous brunch. Then there were relay games for the kids, which were a riot. Many of us dressed up in spring dresses and there were some very fetching "Easter bonnets." Boy was it fun to show this place off to my friends. Other recent events: a neighbor knocked on my door when Hale Bop first appeared. (Doesn't that sound like the name of a dance?) We all came out of our homes to check it out, & someone brought a telescope. A local artist has an art show currently on display in our common house. We're having a folk concert here next week-end. We've also had folk dancing, lots of impromptu dances, Sierra club meetings, dance class for the kids, yoga, meditation, hot tub parties.... We also work really hard and have some intense and difficult times, but I think all of us agree it's well worth the effort. Monica Zukrow Valley Oaks Village, Chico, CA
