Anyone sick of the TV debate - sorry.

Several people have named Sesame Street as an example of *good* TV. I have
heard the argument that, while SS teaches letters and numbers quite well, it
helps add to the lack of attention span and problem solving skills in kids
these days because it depends on the same flashy quick images as commercials
(and other media).

I think comparing TV to heroine is a bit strong - I think of it more like a
murder mystery or other "trashy" reading, more of an occasional escape.

As one of the origioners of this (surprisingly active) thread, I feel I must
add that those homeschoolers who have TV on in their house are two of the
calmest, sweetest kids in the community. As much as I once thought "Nurture
is Destiny", I am becoming more convinced that "Nature" has a huge hand in
the whole thing. Isn't it cool how things just get muddier as we get older?
