It just occurred to me, Rob. Isn't there a community that has laundry carts that they use to get the laundry from house to CH? I'm pretty sure someone wrote about that here. Those commercial carts would be great. I've often wished I had wheels on my basket. I still think that even with larger distances, it is such an economy of scale to have a laundry that it's worth putting a little effort into it. -- Liz Stevenson Southside Park Cohousing Sacramento, California ---------- From: "Rob Sandelin" <floriferous [at] email.msn.com> To: Multiple recipients of list <cohousing-l [at] freedom2.mtn.org> Subject: RE: Laundry in common house Date: Tue, Dec 21, 1999, 2:14 PM The scale of your community has a lot to do with whether a laundry will work. Tight, close buildings make it reasonable to walk over to do the laundry. If your site is larger and spread out, it is much less reasonable. I seem to recall that the homes that were further than 200 feet from the commonhouse were unlikely to use a central laundry. I just tried to find that number somewhere but can't so maybe I am not remembering it right? Anybody have any observations of laundry use with relationship to distance?
