REQUEST FOR FEEDBACK -- TENTATIVE DATES I'm working on scheduling the The CoHousing Network's every-other-year North American Cohousing Conference for 2001. While the conference has traditionally (but not always, I'm told) been held at coho communities, its growth and the small size of the urban coho communities in this area precludes that option. So, we're planning to hold the conference on the campus University of California in Berkeley, California (thanks to a departmental cosponsorship). To take advantage of dorm room and classroom availabilty to keep costs down, we're scheduling it for a time when classes are not in session. Subject to resource availability, we're looking at the weekend of July 20-22 (Fri-Sun), with possible community/professional days on either side. What we need to find out in the next week or so is: - Are there any major housing/development/community conferences around that time that might prevent developers from attending? - Are there any major events in the region's communities that would prevent people living in communities from attending? - Are there any major religious/sporting/civic events or holidays that could prevent anybody at all from attending? We'll be examining whether there are significant on-campus events that would keep us from getting the meeting rooms/housing we'll need, or other nearby conflicts. In the event that we can't make it happen that weekend, we'll start looking at other dates, as far back as mid-June, so please look at the whole Jun 15-Aug 1 period when scanning for conflicts we should know about. Because these dates are not yet set in stone (or even in sand, for that matter), please don't publish them or include them on group calendars. Thanks In Advance for your help! Please reply directly to me, not to the list.
