We don't have cable there, so it would be just for video viewing and the parents of little ones were still very concerned. Didn't want their kids to watch movies they didn't know about - or any movies at all (most are pretty little kids). We are doing it on a trial basis right now and it has been used 3 or 4 times in a few months. One reason is no VCR, so you have to lug one over each time. I wanted the "video player" there but am strongly opposed to having cable in the CH. As a former (and still susceptible) TV addict, I know how easy it is to plop in front of the TV rather than have a conversation or play a game or play with the kids, or____ fill in the blank. Also, I would hate to walk into the CH and have a "game" of some sort blasting - or any TV for that matter. I really think those that want to watch TV should do so at home and not put it "in the face" of the rest of us. Out of our 14 households, only 2 have cable for the same reasons. We have a West Wing contingent that watches at one of those homes - kind of a club (or cult?).
