** Reply to note from "Peg Blum" <pegb [at] cambridgecohousing.org> Sun, 2 Sep 2001 00:19:20 -0400 >From Racheli Sonora Cohousing Another point regarding cleaning (in the CH, or elsewhere): The vacuum cleaner one uses should have HEPA filters, otherwise the cleanliness achieved is only visual, while the air quality is made worse. The reason is that regular vacuum cleaners take in large particles, and spew out small ones. The smaller particles are especially bad, because they get lodged deep in the lungs. To make the guest room (or any room) accessible for people with allergies/chemical sensitivites, it's important to use non-conventional cleaning substances (namely: ones which don't contain chlorine, perfumes, etc.) - these are better for other environmental reasons, too. R. (Today and tomorrow our kitchen, dining room and living room will be cleaned up, so that - if everything goes well (it ususally doesn't) - we can start having common meals in the CH within 2 or 3 weeks. (That's over a year after some of us have moved in). _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
